I was in Quito in June. Went with my wife and family 4 times. Food. Was very good and tasty and service also. The restaurant has been open for 80 years. My dad took me there when I was ten. Recommend the quimbolitoß ánd humitas .

Truly a local gem. We shared a table with an elderly Ecuadorian couple who come here for breakfast every day. Simple, good and cheap breakfasts here ($3.10 for a coffee, juice, eggs and pork sandwich), with fast and no fuss service by the bustling ladies behind the counter. Not a place to linger at, and don't expect English menus or service, but definitely worth checking out for the experience.

Great breakfast, fantastic coffee, and amazing salsa. You can get the Desayunos for 3$ (eggs, small bread, juice, coffee). Also great humitas.
